Here are some tips to maximize your results:
- Use the search bar to look for specific information, such as an email address, a phone number, a name/username, or an IP address from the suspicious person who initiated a contact with you. You can search the entire website and see if someone has already reported them or had your same suspicions.
- In case you don’t find anything, check out our Knowledge Base: you will find useful information on the different types of scams and what to do to protect you.
- Report the scam through our online form: we will extract the information and use it to map the same type of scam and investigate it.
- Write about your experience in our forum to warn others and find out if anyone else has had the same experience and receive useful advise.
Useful information to share:
- When you were contacted and how (through an app, email, online platform, phone call, etc.)
- The name of the person or company involved (even if you suspect it’s fake), and their contact information
- What their requests were (if you have screenshots of the conversation, text messages, or chats, share them)
- What made you uneasy or suspicious
- What did you do? Did you comply with their requests? Have you sent any money? What happened after that?
Sharing information will help you and other people not to fall victim of online fraud.
